Discover Mayfield – 19 May

The Discovering Mayfield leaflet has been one of the most successful and popular guides to our village, offering fascinating and interesting information on over 50 buildings in our historic village.

Hidden Gems of Mayfield

Created by Paul Miles and the Mayfield Heritage Group, this free guide and map has been
available from five special information boards spread across different part of Mayfield and you
will often see walkers, both visitors and villagers using the guide to discover the hidden gems of
Mayfield.

Where else would you learn that our oldest building dates back to 1440 and some Mayfield residents are living in cottages originally called Velvet Row?

Development of the Guide

Now some 12 years after the guide was created Paul, with help from Linda Greenwood from Mayfield Heritage Group will be displaying his archive on the development of the Discovering Mayfield leaflet and Information boards at Mayfield Memorial Hall on the afternoon of Sunday 19th May from 3.30pm to 6pm.

Included, in the display, will be Pauls original drawings and map plus lots of background information on how this invaluable Mayfield resource was created.
