Fancy Knitting or Crocheting a Poppy for Remembrance Day?

Come and join us at a drop-in session at the Mayfield Arms on Sunday afternoons at the Memorial Hall. First session Sunday 4th August 3.00pm onwards and then following Sundays.  

Sharon Amy and Marna are organising a drop-in session on a Sunday afternoon at the Mayfield Arms at the Memorial Hall for anyone who would like to knit or crochet poppies for the forthcoming Remembrance Sunday in November. Help will be on hand to guide you every step of the way in knitting or crocheting a poppy and you can do it in a friendly group, with a chat and a drink.

Best of all your poppy will then be part of a special display at the Memorial Hall in November, both for this Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Sundays in the future.

Poppy Unveiling

At 4 pm on Remembrance Sunday, Rev Chamil will the bless the poppies in the Memorial Hall. The names of the Mayfield fallen in the two World Wars will also be read out. We hope to see as many of you as possible there.
